Titans open as road favorites over Jaguars for Week 5

The Titans have won seven of their last eight matchups against the Jaguars dating back to 2017.

After imploding in Week 4 and allowing the New York Jets to secure their first win of the 2021 season, the Tennessee Titans will look to avoid another letdown loss, this time against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 5.

According to Tipico Sportsbook, Tennessee is a 3.5-point road favorite over Jacksonville, with the over/under set at 48.5.

The Jags are one of two teams in the NFL still without a win after dropping games against the Houston Texans, Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals and Cincinnati Bengals to begin the campaign.

The Titans have absolutely dominated the Jaguars in recent years. Since 2017, Tennessee has won seven of the last eight meetings between these division rivals and has outscored Jacksonville 204-121 in that span.

A big reason for that has been running back Derrick Henry, who at this point should be given a stake in the Jags after owning them the way he has.

The King has tallied an impressive 1,013 rushing yards, 150 receiving yards and 12 total scores (11 rushing) in 10 games. Henry is averaging 5.51 yards per carry and 101.3 yards per contest in those matchups.

However, as much as we think the Titans are primed to win this game, last week was a reminder that we never know what version of this Tennessee team will show up, especially in games it’s expected to win.

We’ll see if they can avoid another letdown loss on Sunday.
