Titans open as home underdogs to 49ers for Week 16

The Titans open the week as home underdogs ahead of their “Thursday Night Football” matchup against the 49ers.

The Tennessee Titans are starting out as home underdogs to the San Francisco 49ers ahead of their Week 16 matchup at Nissan Stadium on “Thursday Night Football.”

According to Tipico Sportsbook, the Titans are 3.5-point home underdogs, with the over/under set at 44.5. Tennessee is the only home team with a winning record to be an underdog this week.

The Titans come into this game off a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, 19-13, but they are still in good position as far as the playoffs are concerned.

Tennessee sits in the No. 3 seed in the conference behind the New England Patriots (No. 2) and Kansas City Chiefs (No. 1), and can wrap up the AFC South with a win and an Indianapolis Colts loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

Meanwhile, San Francisco is one of the hotter teams in the NFL after having won five of its last six games. The Niners won their second straight in Week 15 by beating up on the Atlanta Falcons, 31-13.

The Titans could be getting a big reinforcement this week, as wide receiver A.J. Brown is eligible to come off Injured Reserve. Tennessee desperately needs a shot in the arm, as the offense is averaging just 14.8 points per contest in its last four.

The Titans and Niners have both hit the over in seven of 14 games, but the Titans have been slightly better against the spread with an 8-6 mark, as compared to the Niners 7-7 record.
