Titans now projected to have most cap space in 2024

After the Bears inked Montez Sweat to an extension, the Titans are now projected to have the most cap space in the NFL in 2024.

The Tennessee Titans have been an inconsistent mess through one half of the 2023 campaign, and while they aren’t technically out of the playoff picture just yet, fans and media have already begun looking to the future.

The Titans do have reasons to be optimistic beyond 2023 thanks to some of their young players, including quarterback Will Levis.

But another reason for optimism in regard to this team turning things around quickly is cap space, which the Titans are set to have plenty of in 2024. In fact, Tennessee is set to have the most cap space in the NFL.

According to Over the Cap, the Titans are projected to have $100.5 million in cap space next offseason, $8 million more than the next closest team, the New England Patriots.

Tennessee officially moved into the top spot following the Chicago Bears signing edge rusher Montez Sweat to a four-year, $98 million deal.

This is a far cry from where the team was this past offseason, when general manager Ran Carthon had a shade more than the lint in his pocket to work with, forcing Tennessee to go bargain shopping.

Now, Carthon has a ridiculous amount of funds to work with, which should expedite the process of getting this franchise back on track, especially if quarterback Will Levis turns out to be the answer.
