Titans grant safety Jamal Adams’ request for release

Tennessee Titans safety Jamal Adams requested his release from the team, and reports indicate that the team is honoring that request.

Tennessee Titans safety Jamal Adams has been unhappy in Tennessee for some time. Last week, Adams was placed on the “Reserve/Non-football Injury” list and inactive for the team’s outing against the Indianapolis Colts due to his growing frustration.

Adams requested his release from the Titans, and it’s now being reported that the Titans will grant his request.

The Titans just signed Adams during the offseason, and he expressed frustration with his lack of playing time just a few weeks into the season. He’s appeared in three games for the Titans, recording just four tackles (two solo).

Originally drafted by the New York Jets in 2017, Adams played there for three seasons before playing four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks. His in-game appearances have dwindled over the last few seasons, partially due to injury issues but partially due to his attitude around everything.

Adams is now a free agent who can sign anywhere. He is healthy and says he’s looking forward to his next opportunity.

The Titans have already been playing without Adams, so his loss doesn’t mean much with regard to playing time.
