Titans DL Jeffery Simmons questions teammates’ effort after Ravens loss

After the Week 6 loss to the Ravens, Titans DL Jeffery Simmons suggested some of his teammates “don’t want to be out there.”

After another lackluster effort from the Tennessee Titans in their Week 6 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, star defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons suggested there are players on the team who “don’t want to be out there.”

Simmons didn’t go into specifics on who exactly that is, but he made it quite clear this team needs to figure out the guys that want it, and the guys that don’t, and then make changes accordingly.

“We need to figure something out,” Simmons said, per Paul Kuharsky. “We need to figure out the guys who are going to fight and figure out the guys who want to be out there, not the guys that don’t want to be out there.

“That’s what it needs to be. We need to reevaluate our team and figure it out. That’s the message: let’s figure it out who wants to play football for the Titans.”

This is quite literally the last thing you want to hear from the captain of a team that is in a downward spiral after two consecutive losses. Talent is already an issue, but a lack of effort will be the death knell of this team.

The Titans will get a much-needed bye in Week 7, which will give them time to “figure something out,” as Simmons put it. But with what we’ve seen, this team simply may not be good enough to do so.
