Tennessee Titans superstar running back Derrick Henry has undeniably been one of the best running backs in the NFL over the last five years.  In fact, his resume can not only hold its own against any running back from his generation, but it likely tops them all as of right now.

Unfortunately, due to Henry’s consistent dominance, his greatness can often be overlooked, but if you truly take the time to go look at his laundry list of accomplishments, impressive numbers, and broken records, it really is eye-opening.

Despite all of this, the national narrative surrounding Henry is he’s coming off a down year.

However, the reality is he nearly totaled 2,000 yards from scrimmage on an offense that complemented him with arguably the worst offensive line and passing attack in the NFL, with the latter group being spearheaded by three different quarterbacks because of injury and ineffectiveness.

Despite the false narrative surrounding Henry’s previous campaign, Trevor Sikkema of Pro Football Focus clearly isn’t one of those who is overlooking him, as he ranked Henry as the second-best running back in the NFL going into the 2023 season behind the Cleveland Browns’ Nick Chubb.

The PFF analyst stated the following regarding Henry’s ranking:

If you asked any non-Titans football fan, they would likely say last year felt like a “down” year for Henry. All he did was rush for more than 1,500 yards with 13 rushing touchdowns while earning the second-highest rushing grade of his career (86.9).

Even with Henry’s greatness on their side, there aren’t many people outside of the fanbase who are giving the Titans much of a chance this year.

Nonetheless, one thing is for certain: if the Titans are going to take back the division crown in 2023, they’re likely going to rely on a heavy dose of King Henry to help get them there.
