Titans coach Justin Outten has chance to stay on Brian Callahan’s staff

Titans run-game coordinator and running backs coach Justin Outten reportedly has a chance to stay on Brian Callahan’s staff.

As the Tennessee Titans continue to purge the staff of former head coach Mike Vrabel, it appears at least one assistant coach has a chance to stay.

According to Titans beat writer Paul Kuharsky, Titans run-game coordinator and running backs coach Justin Outten has not been let go yet and has a shot to remain with the team.

Hired by the Titans in 2023, Outten oversaw a backfield that played well but was clearly hindered by a terrible offensive line.

Despite that issue, Derrick Henry managed to tally 1,167 rushing yards and 12 scores, ranking second and tied for seventh in the NFL, respectively.

Tyjae Spears was also impressive, with the rookie totaling 838 yards from scrimmage and 435 rushing yards, ranking fourth and fifth among rookie backs.

Knowing all that, it isn’t surprising to see the Titans interested in keeping him around.

This is the second time we’ve seen a report about a Vrabel assistant having a shot to remain on new head coach Brian Callahan’s staff. The team is also holding on to defensive coordinator Shane Bowen for now.
