Titans’ Bud Dupree talks ’emotional’ return to Pittsburgh to face Steelers

“It was an emotional day back in Pittsburgh,” Bud Dupree said of the Week 15 game against his former team.

Not only did Tennessee Titans outside linebacker Bud Dupree make his return from injury in Week 15, he also played his first game against his former team, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Dupree wasted no time getting back into the swing of things, as he tallied one sack in the 19-13 loss to the Steelers. The 28-year-old former first-round pick of Pittsburgh called his return to his old stomping grounds “emotional,” per Chris Adamski of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review:

“It was an emotional day back in Pittsburgh,” Dupree said. “It was great to go out here with my new team, (but) we didn’t get the outcome we wanted.”

Dupree, who just came off Injured Reserve this week and saw limited snaps, said he’s still working his way back to full strength and his normal workload but feels good enough to play, per Titans beat writer Paul Kuharsky.

“Yeah, everything is starting to come back around,” Dupree said. “It’s still going to take time… but at the end of the day I feel good enough to go out here with the team and compete.”

Dupree and the Titans will be back at it in Week 16 when they host the San Francisco 49ers at Nissan Stadium in Nashville on “Thursday Night Football.”
