Titans blocked interview requests for RBs coach Justin Outten

The Titans may be holding on to running backs coach and run-game coordinator Justin Outten.

It appears the Tennessee Titans and head coach Brian Callahan are set to keep at least one coach from former head coach Mike Vrabel’s staff.

According to Justin Melo of The Draft Network, the Titans have blocked multiple interview requests for running backs coach and run-game coordinator Justin Outten.

This would seem to indicate that the Titans plan on holding on to Outten, who was hired in 2023. Prior to his stint in Nashville, he served as the offensive coordinator of the Denver Broncos.

Despite having a terrible offensive line, Tennessee’s run game actually had some success.

Derrick Henry finished with 1,167 rushing yards and 12 scores, ranking second and tied for seventh in the NFL, respectively. Rookie Tyjae Spears was also a standout, with his 838 yards from scrimmage and 453 rushing yards ranking fourth and fifth among first-year backs, respectively.

As of this writing, the Titans have made two hires to their offensive staff with offensive coordinator Nick Holz and wide receivers coach Tyke Tolbert, thus Outten’s role is still clear for him to return to if the Titans choose.
