Titans’ A.J. Brown talks fatherhood, OROY snub, being a leader, more

Brown fielded a host of questions from reporters this week.

The Tennessee Titans saw the offense click last season after starting the year mostly stagnant in 2019, and rookie wide receiver A.J. Brown out of Ole Miss was a major factor in the passing game.

He’s cemented his place at the top of the depth chart at the position, and should only continue to come into his own in 2020.

Brown spoke with reporters on a conference call this week, saying that he’s been catching passes from Titans quarterback Logan Woodside, who could end up being the team’s backup this year, multiple times per week.

It stunned some when Brown didn’t take home Offensive Rookie of the Year, but it only serves as motivation for him moving forward.

Brown has been busy bettering himself as a football player during quarantine, but has also assumed fatherly duties. Like so many of the rest of us, Brown has been taking precautions during the pandemic.

Going into next season, Brown will take on a larger leadership role.

Brown totaled 52 receptions on 84 targets last season for 1,051 yards and an average of 20.2 yards per catch. He recorded eight touchdowns, with his longest reception standing at 91 yards.
