Titans agree to terms with DL Sebastian Joseph-Day

The Titans have agreed to terms with defensive lineman Sebastian Joseph-Day.

The Tennessee Titans have finally made a move in free agency to bolster their defensive line.

According to his agency, the Titans have agreed to terms with defensive lineman Sebastian Joseph-Day on a one-year deal, the financial terms of which were not immediately disclosed.

Joseph-Day visited the Titans on Monday. Here’s more on him from an article we wrote on the meeting:

A former sixth-round pick of the Los Angeles Rams, Joseph-Day has started in 68 of the 71 games he’s played in during his career.

In 2023, he appeared in 14 games with the Los Angeles Chargers before being waived late in the season and signing with the San Francisco 49ers. Joseph-Day tallied 36 tackles (three for loss) and tied his career-high with three sacks.

The Rutgers product offers some versatility, as he’s played defensive tackle in a 4-3, nose tackle and defensive end.

This was a much-needed addition for the Titans, who were very thin upfront following the departure of Denico Autry to the Houston Texans.

Joseph-Day isn’t the “wow” move we hoped the Titans would make going into free agency, but he is a big upgrade over everyone not named Jeffery Simmons in the defensive line room.

Tennessee isn’t done yet, though, as the team still needs another starter and could use more depth options.
