Tipico’s SEC Tournament betting odds for Florida vs Texas A&M

Here are the odds for Florida’s opening SEC Tournament game.

The Southeastern Conference Tournament is underway in Tampa as the men’s basketball teams face off to determine which school deserves the league’s postseason crown. For some teams, it is an opportunity to earn accolades and bragging rights, but for others, it is a last chance to make an impression on the NCAA Tournament selection committee.

Today’s Game 3 matchup features two teams in the latter category — the No. 9-seeded Florida Gators and No. 8 Texas A&M Aggies — who face a win-or-NIT game on Thursday. Both teams have struggled to build a sufficient résumé during the regular season due to inconsistent play and only one will move on to play the top-seeded Auburn Tigers on Friday.

The Gators enter the game at No. 55 in NET rankings — down one from yesterday — while the Aggies are just two spots down at No. 57. Both teams went 3-9 in Quadrant 1 games this season, while TAMU was a perfect 3-0 in Quadrant 2 but went 5-2 in Quadrant 3, in comparison to UF’s 4-2 and 5-0 marks, respectively. And of course, Florida has that lonely Quadrant 4 loss that continues to haunt them to this day. Still, it appears the Orange and Blue have the edge in this one.

The Tipico Sportsbook favors the Gators by 2.5-points over the Aggies while the over/under is set at 134.5. The money lines for Florida and Texas A&M are minus-150 and plus-122, respectively, as of 9:30 a.m. EST.
