Time for a bounce back: Some Sooners on offense to keep an eye on vs. Tulsa

After a poor showing on offense against SMU, we’ll be looking at these Sooners to have better games or get more playing time.

Savion Byrd, LG

Savion Byrd is still acclimating to being a full-time starter. After an outstanding performance in game one against Arkansas State, he experienced a complete 180 against SMU.

He struggled tremendously in the passing game and graded out as one of the worst offensive line performances on the team in the win over SMU.

Bill Bedenbaugh made a change, replacing Byrd with Appalachian State transfer Troy Everett. It’ll be interesting to see if Byrd is out there with the starters come Saturday. And if not, will we see him get any game reps off the bench in relief?

Byrd brings a nastiness to the offensive line. He’s still learning to be consistent, so seeing how he responds to adversity will be interesting.
