Timberwolves announcer goes wild after Karl-Anthony Towns banks in three-pointer to force OT

What a shot, Karl-Anthony Towns!

Karl-Anthony Towns, what a shot!

On Monday, the Minnesota Timberwolves were facing down a fifth straight loss when Towns took matters into his own hands. With just 1.1 seconds remaining on the clock against the Memphis Grizzlies and down 113-110, Towns received the inbound pass near the logo and had just enough time to get a three-point shot away.

Miraculously, the shot banked in as time expired to send the Timberwolves to overtime thanks to a herculean effort from Towns. It’s an incredible play, one of the best we’ve seen in the NBA this year, but the call from announcer Dave Benz is what seals the deal here as an all-timer.

Benz, rightfully, loses his mind on the call as the Timberwolves celebrate Towns’ incredible shot.

Sadly, the Timberwolves lost to the Grizzlies 125-118 in overtime, but that does not take away in the slightest how awesome that shot was from Towns.
