Tim Hasselbeck thinks Russell Wilson could be out of football

Seems like an extremely harsh statement from Tim Hasselbeck. Russell Wilson might be done in Denver, but he’s not done in the NFL.

Could Russell Wilson potentially be out of football? It sounds farfetched, but former fellow NFL quarterback Tim Hasslebeck appears to think so.

Speaking on ESPN’s “Get Up” program earlier this week, Hasslebeck gave reasons why the Denver Broncos quarterback could be very well on his way out of the league.

Hasslebeck also chimed in on how Wilson’s age, diminished play, and supposed lack of leadership would make it hard for the QB to land a spot next year.

Wilson experienced somewhat of a career revival under first-year Broncos head coach Sean Payton in 2023. He completed 66 percent of his passes for 3,070 yards, to add along with 26 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He also added 341 yards on the ground with three scores through 15 games. Are they classic Wilson numbers? No. But they are also his highest since his 2020 NFL season.

So even if the Broncos move on from him, Wilson may have stated his case as a player who deserves a third chance from an NFL franchise.
