LSU’s win over Florida on Saturday night was crucial for the Tigers.
With the 45-35 victory, it moves to 5-2 on the season and 3-1 in SEC play heading into a huge opportunity against a top-10 team in Ole Miss. The Tigers haven’t cracked the top 25 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll yet this season, but they’re close once again.
They’re now the highest vote-getter among unranked teams with 51, nearly doubling the next highest-voted team (UCF). LSU’s lone SEC loss to Tennessee doesn’t look nearly as bad after the Vols upset Alabama, and with a win over the Rebels on Saturday, the Tigers should find themselves among the top 25.
