Auburn basketball’s win streak has reached ten games, and the team is playing at an incredible level.
The No. 11 Tigers traveled to Nashville on Wednesday and escaped with an 80-65 win over Vanderbilt to improve its SEC record to 4-0. Vanderbilt outscored Auburn in the second half, 41-39. However, Auburn connected on 46% of its shots throughout the game and dominated free throw shooting to leave Memorial Gymnasium with a 15-point win.
Four players reached double figures in the contest, but the most impressive performance of the game was that of graduate student Jaylin Williams. Williams, who led the team in points with 21, was flawless in Wednesday’s win. He reached 21 points by connecting on all seven of his shots from the field, which included a 2-for-2 mark beyond the three-point line, and made all five of his free throw attempts.
Who else made an impact in Auburn’s victory over Vanderbilt? Here’s a look at which players Auburn Wire writers, as well as Auburn fans, voted for as their “Tigers of the Game.”
