Tigers of the Game: Hunter’s tenacity, defense’s persistance lead to win at Vanderbilt

Three key players led Auburn to its second straight win on Saturday.

It was a great Saturday for the Auburn Tigers, as they defeated Vanderbilt on the road to secure its second SEC win of the season, and their first on the road.

Auburn’s offense gained 424 yards on Saturday, with two key players leading the charge. Running back Jaruqez Hunter had a career day that began with two long touchdown runs in the first quarter, and Payton Thorne gained 230 yards in his first game with complete control of the offense.

Defensively, the Tigers were impeccable. Auburn allowed Vanderbilt to gain just 266 total yards and was very busy behind the line of scrimmage with nine tackles for loss and five sacks.
