Auburn held a higher field goal percentage than Alabama, connecting on 42% of their shots compared to the Crimson Tide’s 38%. However, Alabama’s field goal attempts carried more substance as they connected on 11 three-pointers. The Crimson Tide also held more rebounds, second second-chance points, and recorded three fewer turnovers. Free throws were vital to Alabama’s win as well, as they succeeded on 16-of-19 attempts as opposed to Auburn’s 14-of-18.
Auburn’s Johni Broome was the star of the show for the Tigers, as he led the team in several categories such as points, rebounds, and blocks. Auburn also found aid in two bench players.
