Tigers of the Game: Auburn blows past Notre Dame thanks to all-around effort

Auburn scored on 56% of their possessions, and earned an additional 30 points from the bench in the win over the Fighting Irish.

The Auburn Tigers moved to 2-1 on the season on Thursday by defeating Notre Dame, 83-59, in the opening game of the Vivid Seats Legends Classic at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The Tigers earned the 24-point victory thanks to an all-around effort. Auburn had five players reach double-figures while the bench added 30 points to its total. Auburn also connected on 75% of its free-throw attempts and went 53.4% from the field.

The game also saw Auburn reach the 80-point park in its third-straight game. Head coach [autotag]Bruce Pearl[/autotag] says that there are many factors that lead to the stat.

“If you have to guard us on the perimeter, it opens up driving lanes, opens up Johni Broome, opens up Jaylin Williams on the inside, Dylan Cardwell, I just think we have great spacing and we’re getting open looks. That’s what you want as a coach, to try and get a feel for how the other teams will guard. It does look like in November, this team has an idea of what we want to try and do offensively so far.”
