2019 was a magical year for Tiger Woods, as he broke an 11-year major winless streak by winning his fifth green jacket at Augusta National, and rebounded from a slow summer period with a PGA Tour record-tying 82nd career win in October.
Woods proved at the Zozo Championship, and again at the Presidents Cup in December, that he’s at the top of his game and capable of beating anyone in the world. On Thursday, Woods officially announced when he’ll return to the course to try and break the all-time PGA Tour win record he shares with Sam Snead.
Woods will play his first tournament of 2020 at Torrey Pines in the Farmers Insurance Open, beginning January 23rd. Woods will also tee it up at The Genesis Invitational, a tournament he hosts at Riviera Country Club.
Excited for this season to begin @FarmersInsOpen and @TGRLiveEvents’ @thegenesisinv, our first year as an invitational. See you soon west coast.https://t.co/BgwZz9Bc7j

Both tournaments are regular stops for Woods as he prepares for The Masters. Tiger finished T-20 at Torrey Pines in 2019, and T-15 at Riviera. Woods will undoubtedly be among the favorites to win at both events, and he’s dominated at Torrey Pines over the course of his career, with eight victories at the course. Incredibly, Woods has gone 0-for-13 at Riviera, where he made his PGA Tour debut back in 1992.
