Oklahoma City Thunder rookie forward Darius Bazley will reportedly miss 4-6 weeks with a right knee bone bruise, according to Maddie Lee of The Oklahoman.
The 23rd overall pick suffered the injury on Sunday night during a 112-111 loss against the Boston Celtics. Bazley left the game in the first quarter and did not return due to the injury.
The loss of Bazley will be a huge blow to the Thunder’s frontcourt depth behind Danilo Gallinari after dealing with other injuries this season. In 53 games, Bazley is averaging 4.5 points and 3.7 rebounds.
Though his numbers don’t jump off of the page, Bazley had settled into a backup role on the floor, giving head coach Billy Donovan 17.2 minutes per game.
Injury update: Darius Bazley (right knee bone bruise) will be re-evaluated in 4-6 weeks, per the Thunder.
