The 2021 Pro Bowl, scheduled to be played in Las Vegas, Nevada, was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The National Football League’s top players were, however, still named to the AFC and NFC Pro Bowl rosters.
Three former University of Tennessee football players were named to 2021 Pro Bowl rosters.
In the AFC, Baltimore long snapper Morgan Cox was selected, while New Orleans running back Alvin Kamara and Chicago standout Cordarrelle Patterson, who plays both running back and wide receiver, was selected for his efforts on special teams as a kick returner.
Cox, a former walk-on at Tennessee and undrafted free agent, was named a Pro Bowler for the fourth time in his career, which began in 2010.
Kamara, who tied a single-game record for rushing touchdowns (6) in New Orleans’ Christmas Day victory over Minnesota, entered the league in 2017 and was selected to the Pro Bowl for the fourth consecutive season.
He was the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year and Rookie of the Year in 2017.
Patterson was selected to his fourth Pro Bowl. He has emerged as one of the game’s most versatile offensive weapons and has long excelled as a special teams player and kick returner during his career.
