LSU had a fantastic weekend in Houston, Texas as the Tigers were crowned champions of the Astros Foundation Classic after going 3-0 and securing victories over No. 14 Texas, Louisiana-Lafayette and Texas State.
The Tigers joined Vandy as the only other team in the tournament to go 3-0 but LSU was crowned the champions due to a bigger run differential than the Commodores.
Today, the all-tournament team was announced for the tournament and three Tigers made the team. First baseman [autotag]Jared Jones[/autotag], right-handed pitcher [autotag]Luke Holman[/autotag] and left-handed pitcher [autotag]Gage Jump[/autotag].
The Bear finished the tournament with the third-highest batting average of any player. He went 5-for-11 from the plate (.455 batting average), scored three runs, hit three doubles, one homer, four RBI, and drew three walks over the weekend.
Holman got the start against Texas on Friday and he shoved. He went 5.2 innings and allowed zero runs on only three hits as he struck out 12 hitters and walked one.
Jump got the start against ULL and earned the win after pitching five innings and only allowing one hit as he struck out five hitters and didn’t walk any.
