Oklahoma held on for dear life in their biggest win of the season over No. 9/8 West Virginia on Saturday afternoon.
The Sooners had a fantastic first half, taking an 18-point to the locker room led by their defense and the three-point shooting of Umoja Gibson. In the second half, the defense took a mighty step back, allowing the Mountaineers to climb back in it.
But, even after having their large lead completely erased, Oklahoma just made a few more key plays down the stretch to survive and get a win they desperately had to have.
The victory improves the Sooners to 6-2 overall and 2-1 in Big 12 play before two brutally tough road games in the coming week against Baylor and Kansas. Here are three takeaways from the game:
