It was a wild afternoon on the court for the Texas Longhorns and West Virginia Mountaineers in Morgantown.
The Longhorns men’s basketball team started by hitting six of its first seven shots to lead 13-8. The Mountaineers survived the run and began one of their own thanks in large part to the efforts of Taz Sherman in the first half. Texas found itself in a hole, 40-36 at halftime.
- The Longhorns weathered the storm as they fell down by nine points at one point in the second half. They came storming back in the second half to close the game on a 7-0 run to secure the late victory. Plenty of players were in on the action, but none bigger than the heroics of guard Andrew Jones. His 3-point shot with just over one second left was the difference maker.
