Three of Auburn’s final five opponents find place within US LBM Coaches Poll

Auburn’s final stretch of games will be anything but easy.

The US LBM Coaches Poll has been released after a wild weekend of college football action.

The Texas Longhorns, previously ranked No. 1, fell to No. 6  after losing a home game to No. 2 Georgia, 30-15 in Austin. Alabama also dropped out of the top 10 after losing to Tennessee in Knoxville, 24-17. The loss, Alabama’s second of the season, drops them to No. 15.

Looking ahead to how this week’s poll affects Auburn, the Tigers will face three ranked opponents over the final five weeks of the regular season. The next ranked foe Auburn meets will be No. 25 Vanderbilt in two weeks when the Commodores make the trek to Jordan-Hare Stadium on Nov. 2. The Commodores are welcomed into the poll after taking down Ball State in Nashville, 24-14 on Saturday. Vanderbilt has won three straight games dating back to its upset win over Alabama on Oct. 5.

The No. 14 Texas A&M Aggies are next on the docket, visiting the Plains on Nov. 23. The Aggies have rattled off six-straight wins after falling to Notre Dame in the season opener, and will face two more ranked teams including No. 5 Texas before the season ends.

Finally, Auburn will look to win its first game in Tuscaloosa since 2010 this season by facing No. 15 Alabama on Nov. 30 at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
