Three former Vols play in the 2023 NFL season-opening game on Thursday.

Detroit defeated Kansas City, 21-20, Thursday at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

Three former Vols appeared in the season-opening game.

Cameron Sutton started at cornerback for the Lions and did not record any statistics. Sutton played in his first game with Detroit after signing as a free agent from Pittsburgh.

Linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin recorded one tackle and rushed for three yards on one attempt during a fake punt.

Trey Smith started at guard for the Chiefs.

Defensive back Emmanuel Moseley was inactive for the Lions and rookie quarterback Hendon Hooker is on injured reserve for Detroit.
