One of Florida’s most popular commits of the Dan Mullen era, Black originally planned to join the program in 2019. Academic issues, however, threw a wrench in these plans, with the native Mississippian instead taking the junior college route.
Enrolling at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Perkinston, he played in 11 games for the Bulldogs as a defensive back in 2019, totaling 46 tackles (8.5 for loss) and an interception.
Listed at 6-foot-3.5-inches and 226 pounds, Black projects to play outside linebacker for defensive coordinator Todd Grantham in Gainesville and was named the No. 1 junior college player in the recruiting cycle in May.
