Redshirt senior linebacker Jeremiah Moon will take advantage of the NCAA’s rule allowing players an additional year of eligibility. Moon announced his return to the Gators in 2021 on Twitter.
“The past few years have tested me physically and mentally,” he said. “Adversity happens in everyone’s journey to success, and that has surely been the case for me. Thank you to everyone that has stuck with me through this process. With that being said, I will be returning to the University of Florida to get my master’s and play one last season with my brothers in orange and blue.”

Moon’s impact in 2020 was limited. After sitting out the opener against Ole Miss, he started the next four games, notching 14 total tackles (1.5 for loss) and a sack. Against Georgia, he suffered a stress fracture to his foot and missed the remainder of the season.
He accepted an invite to the Senior Bowl in November, but instead, Moon will return for his sixth and final season of eligibility. Having him back will be a big boost to Florida’s defense, and he will likely rotate with Brenton Cox Jr. at BUCK frequently.
