From a football perspective, it’s hard to imagine much more going right for Kadarius Toney in 2020. The former Florida Gators wide receiver put up huge numbers in the Swamp last season and made a great impression during the Senior Bowl week. It’s safe to say his draft stock has plenty of momentum in the months leading up to the big event.
In a draft class loaded with quality wideouts, though, it can be tough to separate from the pack. So what makes Toney worth a high investment from a pro team? For starters, he’s a fantastic athlete who can outrun, outmaneuver, or outmuscle collegiate defensive backs. Every indication is that he should stack up well against pros capably as well. Additionally, he’s ludicrously good after the catch, breaking tackles and maintaining his forward momentum through traffic like it’s nothing.
His current perception in national circles is as a player worthy of a late first or early second-round selection. Let’s take a look at which teams in that range would make the best match for what Toney does well.
