The Vikings have a winning record on Thanksgiving

The Vikings have been traditionally great on Thanksgiving

The Minnesota Vikings have had the opportunity to play on Thanksgiving day on eight different occasions and they have taken advantage of their opponent more often than not. Over their eight appearances, the Vikings have a 6-2 record with their two losses coming against the Detroit Lions in 1995 and 2016.

The most famous of all of those games is definitely the 1998 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys. Despite breaking out earlier in the year on Monday Night Football against the Green Bay Packers, this was the true Randy Moss coming-out party.

The Cowboys famously told Moss they were going to take him in the 1998 draft but they passed on him for defensive end Greg Ellis. Moss took it personally and went to Texas Stadium with revenge in mind.

On that fateful day, Moss caught only three passes, but they went for 163 yards and three touchdowns and he made sure the Cowboys regretted passing on him.

Will we see another tremendous performance that leads the Vikings to a 7-2 record on Thanksgiving? That remains to be seen, but nobody will forget that incredible Thanksgiving Day performance.
