The NFL travel schedule can be incredibly taxing, especially on a short week. Throw in an important holiday and suddenly every day life finds itself in the backseat to football. For the Seattle Seahawks, football is obviously among the most important things in life, but not the most important. Not on Christmas, anyways.
Seattle is gearing up for a Thursday Night Football showdown with the Chicago Bears tomorrow, which means they need to be getting on the road sooner than later to get to the Windy City in time. However, they aren’t leaving just so soon, yet. Not without spending a little time with their families.
Head coach Mike Macdonald announced on Tuesday the team would be enjoying Christmas morning with their families before gearing up to leave. His explanation is one everyone should take note of.
Love this from Mike Macdonald. #Seahawks will be in their homes Christmas morning day before they play at CHI: “Look, at the end of the day football doesn’t rank 1st on the hierarchy of needs here. It’s really important for our players and coaches to be home with their families.” pic.twitter.com/AM2trclH0R

Good on Coach Macdonald for recognizing what is truly the most important on a day like Christmas. Chicago will still be there, waiting for them, whenever the Seahawks arrive.
From all of us at Seahawks Wire, we want to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas today!
