The Rock doubles down on WWE comeback: ‘We go all out. And all in.’

The Rock is doing his part to build even more anticipation for seeing him in a WWE ring again.

Just in case anyone thought The Rock was just teasing the world with his recent Raw appearance and “sit at the Head of the Table line,” think again.

Dwayne Johnson took to Instagram to post a video of how much he enjoyed his latest WWE return, complete with goosebump-inspiring footage of him backstage before he walked out and the crowd reaction once he did.

This is all pretty standard stuff from him, as few people understand how to capitalize on moments like The Rock. But it was what was at the end of the post’s caption that let you know he is serious about pursuing a match with Roman Reigns after several years of unfulfilled rumors.

And now we make history, raise the bar and do things that have never been done before in @wwe.

We go all out.
And all in.

Yes, the wording at the end is usually associated with AEW events, but we’ll let him slide on that since it gets his point across: He’s planning on training hard for an actual in-ring appearance.

When might it happen? The assumption is that any hypothetical Rock vs. Reigns matchup would take place at WrestleMania since it’s the biggest possible stage (and that’s not just marketing speak in this case).

However, there’s been more and more thought that it might be part of February’s Elimination Chamber premium live event in Perth, Australia. Not only does the local government reportedly want Johnson on the show, it would allow WWE to have its cake and eat it too, in a sense, turning that event into a can’t-miss spectacle while preserving any previous plans it might have had for WrestleMania 40 — like, say, Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes.

In any case, it’s unlikely The Rock would keep stringing his millions (and millions) of fans along if he wasn’t serious about this. We may not feel secure it’s going down until WWE starts promoting it on TV, but Johnson is already doing some of the work toward building the anticipation with posts like this.
