If we learned anything from the 2019 draft, Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden are going to be aggressive. That means, they will be willing to trade up, down and all across the board to get the players they want.
That should be the expectation again for the Raiders as they are without a second-round pick in this year’s draft. But given that they have two first-round picks, it wouldn’t be all that surprising to see them trade back from either No. 12 or No. 19. In fact, you should probably expect that to happen.
According to BetMGM.com, the Raiders’ odds to trade one of their first-round picks in the 2020 draft sits at -200. That is one of the highest odds in the draft, outside of the Dolphins (-250) and the 49ers (-250). Sportsbooks clearly believe the Raiders will be moving one of their picks, given the odds.
No. 12 appears to be the spot the Raiders could move down from, especially if teams are looking to fill their offensive tackle need. If there are multiple receivers on the board, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Raiders dropped down a few spots, picked up another mid-round pick and still drafted one of their top receivers on the board.
Another likely trade for the Raiders will be on the second day of the draft. Las Vegas owns picks No. 80. No. 81 and No. 91. Don’t be surprised if the team packages two of those selections to get up into the bottom half of the second round.
Expect the Raiders to be highly aggressive in the 2020 NFL Draft.
