8. Tom Brady, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Lord knows, he tried. In Brady’s final season with the Patriots, and with no receivers who could gain separation outside of Julian Edelman, he completed 26 of 67 deep passes for 749 yards, seven touchdowns, and three interceptions. Next Gen Stats had him throwing into tight coverage on 15.2% of his attempts, but in that passing game, pretty much everything was in tight coverage. Expect a sizable uptick in explosive play efficiency for the new-look Brady, whose targets now include Mike Evans and Chris Godwin — two of the NFL’s better downfield separators.
