The next Overwatch 2 event is Battle for Olympus, and it starts soon

The upcoming Overwatch 2 event Battle for Olympus, a free-for-all with superpowered Greek-themed heroes, and it’s just about to start

Battle for Olympus is the next Overwatch 2 event, a superpowered deathmatch where seven heroes get the Greek god treatment and a new set of powers in the multiplayer game. Overwatch 2 Battle for Olympus starts on Jan. 5, 2023, and runs for two weeks, ending on Jan. 19, 2023. To find the mode once the event starts, check the “Arcade” section from the main “Play” menu, and it should be featured there.

During Battle for Olympus, you’ll choose between Reinhardt, Lucio, Pharah, Junker Queen, Widowmaker, Roadhog, and Ramattra, all sporting their godly Greek skins. Widowmaker takes on the form of a Medusa-like gorgon and turns enemies to stone, while Roadhog, impersonating a cyclops for the event, fires massive boulders from his gun.

The event trailer shows Chateau Guillard as the main arena, though it’s uncertain whether it’ll be the only one. The recent Winterfest event took place across a frosty Watchpoint map and the Black Forest.

Blizzard is also keeping quiet about the rewards in store, though the hero who racks up the most eliminations during the event will have a statue erected in their honor on the Ilios map. Some of the new skins, including Pharah’s Hades skin and the Junker Queen’s Zeus skin, are in the season two battle pass, so it’s probably best not to expect a new skin as an event reward as well.

Still, the Battle for Olympus event fulfills one of Blizzard’s earlier promises, to include more events and chances to earn rewards in between major seasonal celebrations.
