The Napkin: Week 3 betting recap littered with regrettable decisions

My family team lost, I got rained on, and breaking my betting rules came back to bite me. What else could go wrong?

Saturday, I attended the UCF vs FAU game in Boca Raton. My friends and girlfriend are all UCF fans and FAU is the team I grew up rooting for, making it the perfect event to attend together. You can read my column on when it’s appropriate to root for your “family team” here on Gators Wire.

What was supposed to be a day full of sunshine, tailgating, and FAU making me proud, turned into an afternoon full of rain and the Owls making my drive home with my UCF friends much more difficult than I hoped it would be.

This is exactly how the Week 3 edition of The Napkin played out.

I went in all excited about finding great value in road teams and came out sad and regretful that I broke multiple of my personal betting rules in my picks last week. Sometimes, you’re just going to have one of those weeks. What’s important is that I go in, learn from them, and apply that newfound knowledge toward my future bets.

I can promise you that Week 4 of The Napkin will fare much better than the Week 3 edition.

Here’s a recap of what my Week 3 picks looked like.

And now, let’s see how we did.
