The 2021 season has been an absolutely dreadful experience for the Detroit Lions as they entered Week 13 as the lone winless team in the NFL. But despite the weekly heartbreak for Detroit, it did seem like that elusive first win was going to come at some point.
Well, Sunday’s matchup with the Minnesota Vikings would be that day. After nearly giving the game away on a late strip-sack turnover, Jared Goff led the Lions on a 14-play, 75-yard drive capped off with a last-second, game-winning touchdown pass to Amon-Ra St. Brown.
The win was a long time coming for Lions fans — and by that, I mean their last win was on Dec. 6 of last year (!!!). And you could tell that the Lions’ radio broadcast was thrilled to finally have a chance to call a winning play.

As St. Brown hauled in the pass from Goff, play-by-play announcer Dan Miller shouted, “They did it!” And continued on the call:
“Amon-Ra St. Brown on the receiving end. Oh, they’re rushing the field! They’ve done it! Three zeros on the clock. This game is over. It’s over!”
And just for good measure, this was what the Vikings’ call sounded like:
