The latest NFL mock draft from NFL.com has the Patriots taking Marvin Harrison Jr., not a QB

Would the Patriots really not take a quarterback at No. 3?

Well, this would be a surprise given how bad Mac Jones is and how the New England Patriots need some help at quarterback.

In most NFL mock drafts, the New England Patriots end up with a quarterback. In the latest mock from our Christian D’Andrea, he had the Pats taking offensive tackle Joe Alt from Notre Dame. And in the new mock from NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein, he’s got Ohio State receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. going to New England. That drops QB Drake Maye right to No. 5, where the Atlanta Falcons would trade up for him.

Here’s what Zierlein said about the Harrison pick:

Harrison is an easy plug-and-play option here, but it will be interesting to see if the Patriots feel pressured to take a QB at No. 3.
