The good, the bad, and the MVP: Michigan basketball defeats Maryland

What worked well for Michigan basketball, what didn’t and who was the best player on the court for the Wolverines against Maryland.

Mostly everyone wondered how Michigan would fare coming off a big loss at Minnesota this past Saturday. Would the team lose confidence, or would that game just be an aberration? Well, the Wolverines answered that, and they did it quite swiftly.

The maize and blue started the night off on an impressive 17-3 start, and they never looked back. Great defense, good passes, and sharp shooting from the perimeter landed the No. 7 Wolverines a big win on Tuesday with the final score being 87-63. Michigan has now swept the Maryland Terrapins — unless the two teams meet in the Big Ten tournament.

With the win on Tuesday evening, the Wolverines are still in first place in the Big Ten standings, and their next matchup will be with Purdue on Friday.

We’re going to dive more into the game and discuss what we liked, didn’t like, and who will take home the coveted MVP award.
