The good, bad, and MVP: Michigan vs. Northwestern

What was good, bad and who was the MVP for Michigan basketball vs. Northwestern.

What was thought to be a difficult matchup for the Wolverines turned into a massacre.

No. 16 Michigan defeated No. 19 Northwestern, 85-66, on Sunday night in Ann Arbor, and the Wolverines move to 9-0 (4-0) – they still remain as the only undefeated Big Ten team.

Right from the jump, you could sense that Michigan came to play, and everything went the right way for the maize and blue. From stout defense to hitting the three-ball, Michigan dominated the game.

The Wolverines had five players in double-digit scoring: Hunter Dickinson had 19 points, Franz Wagner, Eli Brooks, and Chaundee Brown Jr all had 14 points, and Isaiah Livers contributed 10 points to the box score.

The Wildcats only lead the game early, and that was when they were up 10-9 at the outset of the ball game. Once Michigan took over, it never let up. The Wolverines’ largest lead of the game was 29 points, and despite reserves being in for the final four minutes, they still comfortably won by 19.

Let’s discuss what we liked, what could get better, and tonight’s MVP.
