If there’s one thing anyone should know about the Giants, it’s that you may want to wait before dishing out a compliment. They had Tiki Barber speaking way too soon on Sunday.
The Giants — coming off their benching and releasing of Daniel Jones — went into the locker room against the Buccaneers down 23 points at halftime. The game was already a mess, but with the former Giants star on the broadcast, Barber was looking for encouraging signs out of the Tommy DeVito-led Giants.
So, when the Giants opened the second half with an eight-play drive deep into Bucs territory, Barber said that the drive was looking really good. He should have waited for that ninth play.

Right after Barber finished that sentence, Tyrone Tracy Jr. fumbled around the five-yard line. The Bucs recovered and scored on the ensuing drive.
What an announcer jinx. It was almost as if the Giants heard the compliment and chose to put an end to it.
