The original Dying Light looks better than ever now that there’s a new-generation update for PS5 out.
On Tuesday, Techland released a patch for Dying Light that makes the seven-year-old title look great on PS5. Xbox Series X|S owners will also get the update, but it’s coming on a yet-to-be-announced date.
Dying Light PS5 Upgrades
- Performance mode: targets 60 FPS cap in full HD
- Balanced mode: targets 60 FPS in QHD
- Quality mode: 30 FPS at 4K resolutions
PS4 Pro owners will also see improvements to the 30 FPS cap mode and new networking solutions with EOS to help long matchmaking issues.
Dying Light might be old(ish), but it’s worth playing with a group of friends if you haven’t already. Plus, it regularly goes on sale for cheap these days.

It’s surprising that Techland still supports the original game when Dying Light 2 Stay Human came out last month. Of course, the studio is still issuing big fixes and minor content updates for the sequel, with another big patch coming soon.
