While the interior of the Las Vegas Raiders’ new home at Allegiant Stadium is nearly complete, construction crews are adding the final touches on the stadium’s exterior.
And it’ll fit right in with the rest of Vegas: There’s going to be a mesh videoboard on the exterior of the stadium.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal’s Mick Akers provided the latest photos of the construction progress on Monday. And we could see as components of an enormous mesh videoboard were already applied to the stadium’s exterior. According to Akers, the entire videoboard is expected to be operational by the end of the month.

That last photo from his tweet showed what the exterior videoboard is expected to look like, and I must say that I never realized stadiums should have an LED screen shell until now. But when you have the opportunity to loop Derek Carr B-roll towards a highway on a 275-foot screen, you’re going to take that opportunity 100 percent of the time — no matter the cost.
And even though an exterior videoboard will change the stadium’s look at night, there’s no denying that Allegiant Stadium will stand out in a city that already has a ton of videoboards.
You can never have too many screens, after all.
