Some things are bigger than politics and one of those things is the Michigan-Ohio State rivalry. And one Daily Show correspondent and host has chosen a side.
At the Republican National Convention, Ohio senator J.D. Vance was named the vice presidential candidate, and though he’s from the Buckeye State and went to OSU, he made several overtures to Michigan throughout his acceptance speech. However, afterward, he was seen doing the OH-IO chant, and The Daily Show’s Jordan Klepper is having none of it.
“If you’re wondering why the ‘OH-IO’ chant is O-H-I-O, it’s because it’s the only word people from Ohio can spell,” Klepper said. “Go Blue, you hillbilly (expletive deleted)!”

Regardless of your political beliefs, this is a message we all can stand behind.
If you didn’t watch the video, Klepper shows a picture of him wearing maize and blue on the field after Michigan football beat the Buckeyes following the win at The Big House in 2021.
Klepper didn’t go to Michigan, but he is a Kalamazoo native who went to Kalamazoo College.
