The Bills trainer who helped save Damar Hamlin’s life got an MVP vote, which is the best

A perfect way to pay tribute to the person who really was most valuable this season.

Patrick Mahomes was obviously the NFL’s MVP this season.

But one voter for the NFL’s most valuable player didn’t forget about Damar Hamlin and the person who helped save the Buffalo Bills’ safety’s life.

As many people reported on Thursday after Mahomes’ win at the NFL Honors ceremony, Bills assistant athletic trainer Denny Kellington — who was among those who saved Hamlin’s life — received a fifth-place vote for MVP. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, that vote came from colleague Suzy Kolber.

A terrific tribute to a man who really was the most valuable in a life-saving situation. And Kolber talked about it last month, as you’ll see below:

Love it.
