The biggest gaming news of the week: June 17, 2022

Between Final Fantasy 7 and Resident Evil 4, remakes dominated headlines.

Not-E3 is over. It’s been a hot minute since a week’s worth of gaming news radiated with such chaotic energy. One moment, we’re celebrating that TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge is finally out, and the next, Neill Blomkamp is making some ridiculous Gran Turismo movie. Please, let’s have more chill next time.

Jokes aside, nearly every press conference was absolute fire. Microsoft’s massive Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase gave release dates for highly-anticipated games like Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4, even though the extended show was pretty ho-hum. Capcom’s show had plenty of cool reveals too. Yet still no Resident Evil PS1 classics collection, much to my chagrin.

Right, no more honorable mentions. Let’s look at this week’s big headlines.
