The biggest gaming news of the week: July 29, 2022

Grand Theft Auto 6, Nier: Automata, and Roblox dominated headlines.

Another summer month is nearly behind us. Thank goodness, because the never-ending flood of depressing headlines gets old. At least video games can take our minds off everything, if only for a brief moment in time.

In a nice change of pace from last week, the games industry was booming with massive stories. Release date information for World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Classic and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide came out of nowhere — proving that green orcs punching each other is still a valid business venture for developers. Please, tabletop connoisseurs, don’t get upset at us for mentioning those two franchises in the same sentence. Let’s all just collectively groan that Lord of the Rings: Gollum was delayed again.

Alright, enough lollygagging. Time to look at the most prominent video game-related headlines from this week.
