Many college football fans were excited to tune in to No. 11 Texas vs. No. 3 Alabama in Week 2.

The game certainly lived up to the hype. The Longhorns dominated the Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa, handing Nick Saban his worst home loss as the Alabama head coach.

ESPN released the ratings for the Texas-Alabama game on Tuesday. The 8.8 million viewers becomes the most watched regular season game on ESPN since 2015. The game peaked at 10.7 million viewers.

Texas and Alabama are two of the biggest brands in the sport. The exciting matchups between Steve Sarkisian and Nick Saban over the last two seasons should have fans excited for what’s to come in the SEC.

The Longhorns return to Austin to host Wyoming at 6:30 p.m. CT on Sept. 16. Sarkisian’s team will need to prove that they can play consistent football over the next 10 games. The sky is the limit for what this team has the chance to accomplish in 2023.
